The uncertainty looming over Noida Extension homebuyers has forced them to write to the NCR Planning Board to clear the Greater Noida Master Plan 2021 at the earliest so that construction of pending projects can resume.

Secretary of Noida Extension Flat Buyers' Welfare Association (NEFBWA), G L Sagar said "We have appealed to the planning board to clear the Master Plan so that flat buyers get possession of their houses in time,"
On the other hand, the NCRPB says that due process has to be followed before clearance is given to the Master Plan. "There are no time limits for clearing the plan," said a senior official of the Board. "The plan has been submitted to us, but we have to examine it in detail as it involves the fate of the entire NCR that has four state governments as stakeholders," added the official.
After notification of the NCR Regional Plan 2021 in 2005, the four state governments involved - Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh - are preparing their respective sub-regional plans with financial assistance from the NCRPB. The sub-regional plan of UP, which includes the Master Plan 2021 of Greater Noida Authority, has to conform to the provisions of the Regional Plan 2021 regarding environment, drainage, solid waste management, rural development, etc.
Greater Noida Authority officials agree that the NCRPB is not time-bound to clear the plan. "It's due to this reason that we have filed a review petition in the Allahabad High Court seeking its nod to resume construction activities in Noida Extension," said an Authority official.
